A vineyard house in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, which combines relaxed rural living with the practical requirements of a working rural property, and the opportunity to independently accommodate guests. Two wings are set at right angles to the prevailing northerly wind. Set above garaging and utility spaces, the higher form contains a master suite and separate guest accommodation. Parallel to it but set apart lies the living wing, commanding expansive views north across the vines and opening south to a roofed courtyard offering sheltered outdoor living in all weathers. Connecting the two is a tiled walkway, leading beneath the upper level to the living entry, and linking with the garage, laundry, guest suite and courtyard.
